About Us

Burton has played a variety of key roles in the development and promotion of industry standards including the Microsoft and Intel Telephony Application Programming Interface (TAPI) and Universal Serial Bus (USB). His client list is a who's who in the CTI and voice data (IP) convergence space. Because of his knowledge and diverse industry connections, he is regularly called on to help companies establish and/or refine their strategic direction. He often works behind the scenes to facilitate partnering and other relationships between companies with complimentary interests.

Recent examples include:

  • Microsoft/Dialogic - Licensing, Development and Investment Agreements to Extend Windows as a Platform for Communications
  • NBX - Preformed the due diligence for the seed investors and continued to advise the company after the investment. NBX was acquired by 3Com in March 1999
  • Circa Communications - Arranged funding for this IP Telephone manufacturing company from Dialogic, an Intel Company and Circa's acquisition by Polycom
  • SoundLogic - Helped this multimedia CRM Company with their strategic planning including building a management team and positioning to be acquired. SoundLogic was acquired by Lucent in December 1999

 

Burton is a frequent keynote speaker and is regularly quoted in the trade and business press. He is an advisor to several industry associations and trade shows. As such, he strongly influences the topics covered at major conferences, and is involved with speaker selection. He was a founding member of the MultiMedia Telecommunications Association (MMTA) and served on the Board of Governors of the MMTA.

During his career, Burton founded several successful start-ups. Prior to CT Link, Burton founded Control Key Corporation, a manufacturer of telephone accounting systems and software - a joint venture with NEC America.
